Common fault
Why is there water under my refrigerator in Rancho Bernardo?
Short answer
There are two realistic sources of water under a built-in refrigerator, and what the water looks like usually names which one you have. Sub-Zero Repair Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Bernardo: (858) 630-4145.
Why that is usually the answer
Clear water sitting toward the front points at the plumbing: the supply line feeding the ice maker, a fitting behind the unit, or an inlet valve weeping under pressure. Cloudy water alongside ice on the freezer floor points at the defrost drain, blocked with ice so that everything the coil sheds ends up inside the cabinet and finally under the door. Both are small repairs and neither one stops on its own. Rancho Bernardo, San Diego kitchens sit on slab, so the water does not go down, it goes sideways under the cabinet base, and the first thing to show damage is usually the toe kick or the bottom of the cabinet run next door rather than the floor you are standing on.
Where it usually turns out to be
In the older Rancho Bernardo kitchens the supply side is the likelier half, for reasons that have nothing to do with the appliance. The ice maker was often plumbed in years after the house was built, run in soft copper and tapped into the nearest line with a saddle valve, which is a small hole in a pipe held back by a washer. Saddle valves corrode, restrict and weep, and they do it slowly enough that the first sign is a stain rather than a puddle. Newer installs up in 4S Ranch generally have a proper quarter-turn stop instead, and their leaks show up at the compression fitting behind the unit or at the inlet valve itself.
Where the water goes is a construction question rather than an appliance question, and it is why this fault gets found late in the slab-built parts of San Diego County. A built-in sits flush in cabinetry on a concrete slab. Nothing is under it and nothing is below it, so anything that escapes runs down the back, across the concrete, and under the base of whatever cabinet sits alongside. The kitchen looks completely dry while the cabinet base two doors down is soaking it up. A swollen kick panel, a dark line along the bottom of a cabinet door, or a section of flooring that has begun to lift near the refrigerator with no visible water anywhere should be treated as a leak and called in the same day. The repair itself is small. The cabinetry and the flooring are not.
If that matches what yours is doing, say so when you call — it decides which parts come on the van.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do you take the appliance away to repair it?
Almost never. Built-in and integrated refrigeration is engineered to be serviced where it stands: the condenser through the grille, the evaporator through the interior panels. Pulling a column out risks the surround, the flooring and a custom panel front nobody can match anymore. Sub-Zero Repair Rancho Bernardo repairs it in your kitchen — (858) 630-4145.
How quickly can someone come out?
The line is answered around the clock, seven days a week, holidays included, and same-day slots are available most days. What decides whether a job finishes on one visit is rarely the diary; it is whether the right part is already aboard. Two minutes on (858) 630-4145 with Sub-Zero Repair Rancho Bernardo usually settles that.
